PRADA GROUP’S SEA BEYOND PROGRAM EMPLOYS ART TO BUILD OCEAN LITERACY.

By Morgan Becker

The SEA BEYOND program—a project by Prada Group and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC)—took to Tokyo earlier this month. The label’s Aoyama location became the stage for a conversation between two major players in the movement to protect the ocean: photographer and climate artist Enzo Barracco and IOC Senior Program Officer Francesca Santoro.

Beyond Noise went behind the scenes, learning directly from Enzo and Francesca what it takes to fight the climate crisis, using visual storytelling to enrich society’s connection to the deep blue.

Images from Enzo Barracco’s latest book, The Blue on Fire, Hawaii, will be on view at Prada’s Aoyama location through December 29.
