The minds behind Faces, Rianne van Rompaey and David Findlay, speak exclusively to Beyond Noise about their work on the short film exploring identity, womanhood, and the “ethereal atmosphere between reality and dreams.”

Written and directed by Findlay, and starring van Rompaey and Astrid Whettnall, the film loosely traces the Dutch model’s transition from the fashion industry to performance—from “muse” to “maker.” Exploring themes of suffering, achieving success and happiness, shape-shifting, selfhood, and more, Faces is an introspective mind-bender, strengthened by costume design by Catherine Holstein of Khaite and styling by Vanessa Traina.
